In Resort 2013, a lot of collections have very strong identities of the designers; the theme, the cut, the silhouette, etc. However, there are looks from different designers' collections that put together end up looking like they are from the same posse. It might be the loose-cut bottoms; it could be the collared button-downs, or even it might could of been the sunglasses and styling.

It is just everything, the whole feeling we get from these looks are the cool girl looking very effortlessly well dressed. These looks are a mix of being dressy yet still looking casual. No matter what the girls are wearing heels, flats, sandals, open-toes, ankle boots, etc, they all look pretty chic in the outfits.

These looks are also a reminiscence of androgyny, hinting masculinity in the cuts and silhouettes. This look/posse is also a signature Wang girl. I mean... who wouldn't wanna be that girl? Really!?

Kate Moss in Rag & Bone Ad Campaign

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

For Rag & Bone's first ever AD campaign, they invited supermodel Kate Moss to strike her stuff in it. This campaign was shot by Craig McDean, somewhere probably Chelsea, North London. Wearing a leather jacket, white tee with leather hot pants, Kate Moss did look super cool and effortless in this AD campaign. With her washed hair, squinted dozzy eyes and her relaxed pout, the whole kudos look is strongly marked in this campaign.

Wang vs McQ

Don't you all feel like the new AW12 Alexander Wang Ad Campaign is very similar to AW12 McQ Ad Campaign? They are both released today and apparently both shot by David Sims. Sims is known for his Black & White photographs.  However, these two ADs both have models standing still with arms on the side, both girls are having a bad hair day with no expressions on the face. Coincidentally, wearing a jacket!

Knowing that they are both from the same photographer, but we still would like a bit of individuality and uniqueness to the images!

A White Spring Thirteen

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

A lot of designers are doing all white for Spring 13 menswear; some classic design houses like Louis Vuitton would present some all white looks really proper and classic, while some designers like Walter van Beirendonck and Sibling show a funky side of all white looks. The sheerness J.W. Anderson and cut-outs in Mugler may not be every man's cup of tea, but the uniqueness of the designers' aesthetics and messages definitely attact a group of passionate fans and followers.

Different styling and silhouettes make the all white looks looking very individual to the designers' own aesthetics. There also are different shades of white from off white to starch white; different textures and shades create very nice yet interesting combinations. Overall, its definitely a clean and fresh take to Spring 13.

Christopher Kane Resort 2013

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Christopher Kane is known for his body conscious dresses and very quirky printings; this season, his prints are definitely getting more commercial and appeal to more women comparing to his previous Japanese tattoo print or gorilla print. He also offers more choices in silhouttes and lengths in this resort collection. There are a lot of Kane elements here, the pleated dresses, the short ruffled skirts, even styling is very Kane as well - wearing a leather jacket over girly dress. The buckled belts are reminiscent of his MA collection at Central Saint Martins, but they are getting more mature in this collection. The wearability and creativity clash really well together in this collection. We just cannot wait to see what he's going to do for his main collection in September.

Cool Wang

Spring 13 kicked off a couple of weeks ago - one of the highlights is Alexander Wang's super chic yet cool collection with plenty of urban and commercial elements. His clothes are so cool and exclusive yet still very wearable; its every womens dream - to dress differently and still being comfortable. There are a lot of Wang elements in this collection. The criss-cross of strapy top adding lingerie details to the tops, the simple with designs dresses, the super cute leather shorts; we could see a lot of Wang signature on the clothes. Just wondering what he is doing for Summer RTW!

Sacai Fall 2012

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

One of the best collections of Fall 12 I reckon; Sacai took this fashion game to a whole new level. The dropped waist line, feminine tailoring and ruched skirts just made the sacai girl couldn't be any cuter. The silhouettes of this collection is sweet and youthful; the fabrication and styling add a sharp edge to it though. Its like a super girly girl dressing up to be an edgy fashion bitch. The mixture of both element definitely appeals to a lot of women of the moment. They are feminine, girly and sweet, but there is another side to them that are harder and tougher.

Markus Lupfer x NO CARS

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Markus Lupfer's designs are kind of girly; the shiny and leathery fabrication make the clothe looking very dressy. With the small insertion of the pop-art graphics, the clothes look more fun and young. Markus Lupfer has a large fan base of young people.

The collaboration of Markus Lupfer Fall 2012 collection with the Japanese girl band, NO CARS in making a music video shows a different side of the collection to the audience. The mood of the video is vintage and the whole setting including the music, colour schemes, props and ambience have a reminiscence of the 70s.

Hedi is Back!

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

People are so overwhelmed about the comeback of Jil Sander at her namesake label; there's another piece of good news for Hedi's fans. After the departure of Stefano Pilati at Yves Saint Laurent, it was announced that former Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane will be the designer of YSL.

Hedi Slimane created a really distinctive for mens fashion while he was at Dior Homme; his slim-cut tailoring and indie style at Dior Homme was one of the most influential menswear collections of recent years. This style was then followed and developed by a lot of menswear designers. When he was replaced by Kris Van Assche at Dior Homme, he focused on fashion photography and did plenty of astonishing work in the photography field. He was definitely missed by a lot of fans and his comeback will create another big noise in fashion just like Phoebe Philo did after her long "maternity leave".

Though Slimane had never really did womenwear, his work at Dior Homme was worn by a lot of female celebrities including Kate Moss and his menswear collection had a great female fan base. We just can't wait to see what he will do at YSL!
